This was a fun project! I started with a gorgeous piece of natural Wild Horse from the Royston Mine in Nevada, and then started playing. I drew and cut out the shape and instead of giving it traditional stamping embellishments I tried something new and literally burned holes thru the silver to give it a very unique look. I love it! Measuring 3” wide by 3” tall its big , but light, as I only used a very thin layer of silver for the backer. Will accept up to a 5mm chain.
All of my jewelry, with the exception of the commercially manufactured Italian chains, is custom made. Everything is hand poured, or hand formed, by me and me alone. I start with .999 pure Silver bullion and alloy it down to the worldwide industry standard “Sterling Silver” of .925 purity for jewelry. .999 Silver is way too soft for the longevity of items like rings and such. During the alloying process NO NICKEL is ever used. I am extremely diligent of this as I myself have a Nickel allergy. From initial design to finished product I do it all. The end result is an heirloom quality piece of jewelry, you would be proud to pass down for generations to come.
